The purpose of the educational program of the specialty 05/26/05 "Navigation" is to provide professional training for a specialist in the specialization "Navigation on sea and inland waterways", the formation of universal, general professional competencies among students in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard and professional competencies established by the OOP as recommended on the basis of professional standards corresponding to the professional activities of graduates.
A special feature of this program is the training of graduates who are able to operate ships of sea and river transport, technical fleet, offshore development vessels, floating drilling rigs and other vessels.
- Simulator training (in accordance with the provisions of the STCW Convention and the requirements of the MANS)

- Maneuvering and steering of the vessel, including the ATTIC
- International maritime conventions
- Radio communications and telecommunications (including GMDSS)
- Nautical astronomy
- Training on the use of an electronic cartographic navigation information system (Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code)
- Inland waterways and GTS
- Radio navigation devices and systems, including the ATTIC
- Operation of the ATTIC
- Training on the use of a radar station (Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code)
- Preparation for the use of an automatic radar laying system (Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code)
The practice is carried out on sea vessels, river-sea navigation vessels, river vessels and vessels of the fishing fleet.
